MINISTRIES

WE CARE helps our Christian family when an opportunity exists. Sometimes it is a joy in celebrating a birth, a comfort in difficult times, or the helpfulness of transportation. It also maintains the Prayer list and does a card ministry to our congregation. WE CARE is a list a people who will help fix a meal or give a ride to the doctors, hospital, or Church. If a person cannot participate when called, the next person on the list is called. Members are usually called on a couple of times a year. Adult Chancel Choir: The Adult Chancel Choir is a mixed, non-auditioned chorus that leads the congregation in the 8:45 a.m. traditional worship service. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the choir room on the second floor. Child care is always provided. Selections are chosen to reflect the seasons and the liturgical year drawing from a large variety of musical genres including Gospel, African-American Spirituals, Traditional Folk Tunes, Hymns, and Classical. Major presentations include the annual Christmas and Easter celebrations. Won't you come and make music with us. Let's worship the Lord together!

Praise Team: The Praise Team leads the congregation in the 11:00 a.m. contemporary worship service. Rehearsals are held each Monday from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The Praise Team is an auditioned group. We are currently seeking a drummer and rhythm/lead guitar player.

Cherub Choir: The Cherub Choir is a non-auditioned childrens chorus that presents special music once per month at both the traditional and contemporary services. The choristers meet each Sunday from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. in the choir room on the second floor. Major presentations include the annual Christmas and Spring plays. The Cherub Choir also presents music at local retirement homes several times each year.

Media Ministry: The Media Ministry is a vital element to the contemporary worship service. Each member's responibilites include preparing a slideshow presentation for the pastor's sermon, generating lyrics for the worship service, playing video clips (DVD/youtube) chosen by the worship director, and displaying current news and events. The Media Ministry opperates on a rotating schedule and a small amount of training is necessary to learn the software.

The Family Ministry host several family-oriented events throughtout the year, including the church annual picnic, back-to-school social, and the chili cookoff.
