Meet Our Adopted Missionaries
The Missions Committee has an exciting new voluntary opportunity for everyone at Wesley Chapel. You may never have been able to go on an overseas mission trip, but you can do so "by proxy" without leaving the comfort of your own home. We have "adopted" a mission that takes place thousands of miles away in Namibia, Africa.

Lorna and Travis Curry were both busy professionals who attended Norcross FUMC up until a few months ago. After several mission trips to Nicaragua with their church, they felt God's call into full-time mission work. To their delight and surprise, God led them to become the Directors of the Children of Zion Village orphanage, home to 57 children whose parents have died of AIDS.

Through the Mission Society of the UMC, they received 2 years of extensive religious, cultural and language training, and finally set off for their new life in 2010. They sold their beautiful home and all of their belongings to help fund their outreach efforts - and they will continue their work of sharing the Gospel and caring for the children, the orphanage and the farm largely on voluntary contributions.

Please pray for wisdom, strength and perseverance for Travis and Lorna as they carry out this vital ministry. If you would like to donate to our adopted missionaries, you can do so online at any of the following links.
