Mother's Morning Out
We welcome you to our Mother's Morning Out information page. The program is under the direction of Sue Oliver who has been Director since 1984. She began bringing her daughter at that time and now Katie is part of the program as one of the workers.
This is a "play program" where the children are free to play with various toys and learn social skills at an early age involving sharing, interaction with other children, imagination skills and basic clean-up skills. On some occasions, we do hands-on crafts and hand-eye coordination projects.
Weather permitting, the children play outside in a safe (fenced-in), shaded environment. When it is not feasible to play outside, the children play in the church's gym with balls, various toys, etc. We also at time ask the children to bring their riding toys for a fun and safe time of riding inside the gym.
Since this is free-play time, this allows parents to bring in their children at their convenience and not feel like they are missing a timed activity.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
We are open Monday - Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. year-round. Our program operates on the Cobb County school calendar for holidays and inclement weather days. However, we do not close for teacher work days.
WAYS TO CONTACT MOTHER'S MORNING OUT:
The direct phone number is 678-722-0236. We are located within the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 4495 Sandy Plains Road, Marietta 30066. You can also contact the church office at 770-993-4919.
ARE YOU LICENSED?
We are state licensed and our teachers' are insured. All workers undergo a criminal background check before employment.
RATIO OF CHILDREN TO TEACHERS:
Our approved ratio is 7 children to one adult. However, we always have at least two workers per day.
AGE OF CHILDREN ACCEPTED:
Your child must be able to walk unassisted and can go during the morning without needing a nap. Usually this is age one through 4 years old. They may stay in the program if they turn 4 years old during the summer, but must leave for pre-K in the fall.
MUST MY CHILD BE POTTY-TRAINED? HOW OFTEN DO YOU CHANGE DIAPERS?
As all parents know, potty training comes at different ages. We gladly will work with parents when THEY and their child is ready. We prefer the children wear pulls-up until really ready for potting using. The children are given the opportunity to go to the potty when necessary. However, all children are given the opporunity to go to the bathroom assisted after snack and after lunch. Diapers are also changed at this time (or whenever the need arises).
NUMBER OF SNACKS:
After opening at 9:30 a.m., we serve a non-sugary snack around 10:00 a.m. This is usually fresh fruit and crackers.
WHAT ABOUT LUNCH?
We do ask that you provide lunch for your child that is brought in a lunch box (preferably thermal). We do have a small refrigerator and a microwave in our classroom so we can make sure that your child's lunch is at the proper temperature. We have high chairs for the younger children and child-sized tables and chairs for those that are more comfortable eating at a table. The children are assigned the same location each time they attend to help them better associate where "their" chair is located. Lunch is served between 11:30 - 12. Part of their lunch is served, they are then offered their beverage and then the remainder of their lunch if served. If you send in a dessert, it is served after most of their lunch is eaten.
SICK CHILD?
If your child is sick, please keep them at home. We strive to keep germs away from our program! Hands are washed before snack and lunch and we attempt to keep all noses wiped when necessary. If your child becomes sick during the day, we will contact you immediately to come pick up your child. If we verify that your child has a fever, when we call you, we will verify that it is okay to go ahead and give your child a fever-reducing medicine. WE DO ASK THAT YOUR CHILD STAY AT HOME UNTIL THEY ARE SYMPTOM FREE FOR 24 HOURS.

There is a non-refundable registration fee of $50.00. The MONTHLY cost is $50.00 per month/per day.
